Spirent Avalanche/290 can simulate both real world clients and servers as a standalone unit providing several unique benefits. On the one hand it allows network managers to benchmark multiple clients against real server hosting, Web applications, mail or other type of services, while on the other, it can simulate the servers against clients; or - as when testing a firewall or intervening security or content aware device - it can simultaneously emulate both real world clients and servers requiring no additional equipment.

The platform provides the adaptability to generate line rate stateful traffic up to 10Gbps allowing trunk ports to be directly tested or to determine the impact of multiple GigE ports being aggregated over 10Gbps.
