ViewCast Launches New Affordable, Portable Streaming Media Encoder, High Density Multiple Encoder Platform

New Niagara® 2200, 9100-2D Products Feature Niagara SCX 7.0 Software; To Be Showcased at Integrate Expo 2012 in Australia

PLANO, Texas -- ViewCast Corporation (OTCBB: VCST) today announced the availability of the Niagara® 2200, an affordable portable streaming media encoder, and the Niagara 9100-2D, a high-density multiple encoder platform. Both the Niagara 2200 and 9100-2D feature the new Niagara SCX® version 7.0 encoding, control and management software. This new platform integrated in both products includes a new output container format and MPEG2 Transport Stream (TS) that supports both MPEG-2 and H.264 encoding.

"The Niagara 2200 and 9100-2D answer industry demand for a new output streaming format, which is becoming an important standard for service providers and broadcasters to allow delivery over UDP/IP," said John Hammock, President and CEO of ViewCast, a developer of industry-leading solutions that help companies deliver video to mobile devices and televisions. "The integration of Niagara SCX version 7.0 software in both products, as well as all new Niagara products, will enhance audio capabilities and provide improved user supportability tools for simplified use."

Hammock concluded, "The introduction of these and other technologies this summer are key milestones as we refresh and upgrade our entire technology platform to get in front of changing industry standards as well as pave the way for entering larger service provider markets in the second half of the year."

Niagara 2200 Portable System Combines Popular Formats at an Affordable Price

Built on the same hardware as the Niagara 2100 and 2120, the Niagara 2200 adds versatility by providing a choice of Windows Media® or Adobe® Flash®, as well as MPEG-4 and H.263. In addition, the Niagara 2200 has the capability to configure the encoded output as a Transport Stream. The Niagara 2200 is an ideal fit for analog inputs and standard definition output. Its webcasting capabilities make it an affordable and flexible solution for encoding to content delivery networks (CDNs), local high schools and churches, and for public, educational and government (PEG) applications.

The new Niagara 2200 will replace the Niagara 2100 and 2120. However, customers can upgrade existing Niagara 2100 and 2120 systems for a nominal fee.

High-density Niagara 9100-2D is First Digital Unit in Series

The Niagara 9100-2D is the newest addition to the high-performance Niagara 9100 encoder platform series. While other models are analog, the Niagara 9100-2D has two digital inputs. It is capable of delivering two simultaneous streams in SD or HD video formats, ideal for service providers and broadcasters who can now go digital with the same high-quality performance of the trusted Niagara name.

The Niagara 2200 and 9100-2D will be on display at the Integrate Expo 2012 event in Darling Harbour Australia from August 21 - 23, 2012 in Niagara distributor, Corsair Solutions' booth (F26).
