Portable Dialysis Water Treatment System uses heat disinfection.
May 2, 2014 -
Cleared by FDA, Centurion has flow rate of 1,500 ml/min based on 50°F supply. Integrated heat disinfection design disinfects entire unit — including membrane and delivery lines up to inlet of dialysis machine — in one step. Intended for use in medical facilities or at home, this single patient unit has built-in UF device that enhances microbiological quality to UPW levels ie <0.03 endotoxin units and <0.1 cfu/ml bacteria — making water suitable for hemodialysis as well as hemodiafiltration.

DAYTON, OH — The Centurion portable dialysis water treatment system from AmeriWater has been FDA cleared, officially certifying the single patient unit for use in medical facilities or at home.
Heat disinfection that includes the membrane
Unlike other dialysis water treatment systems, the unique integrated heat disinfection design of the Centurion disinfects the entire unit in a single step – including the membrane and the delivery lines up to the inlet of the dialysis machine. This highly effective and environmentally-friendly heat disinfection saves valuable staff time, reduces chemical costs and ensures all parts of the system are disinfected.
An advanced design for single patient care in-center or at home
To meet the demands of most modern dialysis machines, the Centurion has a flow rate of 1500 milliliters per minute based on a 50°F supply. The unit has a built-in UF device to enhance the microbiological quality to UPW levels ie <0.03 Endotoxin units and <0.1 cfu/ml bacteria, making the water suitable not just for hemodialysis but for hemodiafiltration. The Centurion is also equipped with many of the features of much larger units. These include: a state of the art touch screen display, optional data logging, backflow protection of the incoming mains water supply, an internal leak detection system, a "whisper mode" for nocturnal dialysis, and more. To optimize energy consumption the unit has a variable speed pump. The quiet operation and sleek design of the Centurion makes it unobtrusive in a facility or at home. A dedicated cart is available for portability.
