BASF Introduces ENERTITEŽ Open-Cell Spray-Applied Polyurethane Foam (SPF) Insulation

New residential offering complements high-performance product line

WYANDOTTE, Mich., May 19 /-- BASF, the global leader in polyurethane foam insulation, introduces ENERTITE(R) spray-applied polyurethane foam insulation as a complement to its complete line of SPF products. ENERTITE is an open-cell foam that insulates while providing other high-performance benefits, including sound absorption, healthier indoor air quality, and protection from thermal leaks.

The water-blown foam flows easily into difficult to reach areas and creates a seamless seal. It outperforms fiberglass and cellulose in insulating value by creating a more airtight building envelope and preventing thermal leaks. As a result, homeowners can look forward to significantly lower utility costs. "We hope we can put energy savings and other benefits within the reach of more homeowners by providing them with this cost-effective product," said Michael J. Sievers, Marketing Manager for BASF Polyurethane Foam Enterprises LLC.

Coupled with the proper mechanical ventilation, ENERTITE can provide improved air quality by inhibiting mold and mildew growth. It also effectively absorbs sound, making living spaces quieter and markedly improving acoustical performance in areas such as home theaters. It maintains its form and high-performance characteristics over time and will not deteriorate or sag. The product's long-term performance is backed by a limited lifetime warranty.

ENERTITE is not a do-it-yourself product and is only applied by BASF approved, professional installers to assure quality control. For more information on BASF's complete line of SPF insulation products, please visit www.basf-pfe.com. For a high-resolution image, please click here.
