New Polyurea Grease Prolongs Life of Electric Motors

Responding to customer requests for an electric motor grease with a polyurea thickener, Lubrication Engineers, Inc., introduces Monolec® Extend EM Grease (1282). The new grease helps bearings run cooler and last longer, increases motor efficiency by decreasing drag, and offers excellent mechanical stability for a long service life - even in high-moisture environments. It is especially effective when severe industrial operating conditions, such as extreme temperatures and high speeds, are present.

Designed specifically for use in electric motor bearings, the new extreme pressure polyurea grease contains Monolec, LE's proprietary wear-reducing additive, setting it apart from typical electric motor greases. Monolec Extend EM Grease is highly resistant to oxidation, protects bearings against rust and corrosion, resists water spray-off, and has a high dropping point. It has very low oil separation, so it will not bleed into the motor's windings. The LE grease also maintains pumpability at low temperatures, making it suitable for cold environments and for use with long feed lines to remote application sites.

An NLGI grade 2 grease, Monolec Extend 1282 comes in 14-oz grease tubes, 35-lb pails or in Perma automatic lubricators. It was formulated with the same focus on quality and superior performance that has been an LE hallmark since the company began in 1951.

"The electric motor is the workhorse of manufacturing, and industries all over the world depend on its uninterrupted and reliable operation," said Jeff Turner, executive vice president. "LE is pleased to offer this high-performance grease to help our customers keep their electric motors operating efficiently for an extended length of time."

Proprietary Additive
Available exclusively in LE lubricants, Monolec wear-reducing additive creates a single molecular lubricating film on metal surfaces, vastly increasing oil film strength without affecting clearances. An invaluable component in LE's engine oils, industrial oils and many of its other lubricants, Monolec allows opposing surfaces to slide by one another, greatly reducing friction, heat and wear.
