New Flexible Polyurea Elastomer Joint Sealer Available

Date: February 13, 2009

St. Louis, MO (USA) -- Expansion joints allow sections of a concrete floor to freely "expand" and "contract" in response to temperature changes in the surface. These common joints are the weakest spot of any concrete substrate. When combined with moderate to heavy vehicle traffic you have a potential for constant damage. To fill these joints a material is needed that will flex to accommodate daily movement in the concrete. To solve this problem, Chemline offers CHEMTHANE 8190.

CHEMTHANE 8190 will provide you with a durable flexible seal that will not become brittle and break out with movement. CHEMTHANE 8190 is ideal for repairing spalled joints, as well as filling random cracks and patching gouges, holes and surface defects. Chemthane 8190 is a 100% solids, flexible, two-part polyurea elastomer that cures to the touch in 60 seconds. CHEMTHANE 8190 cures in applications ranging from freezing conditions to 130°F (55°C) and will be ready trimming flush within 20 minutes.

Most importantly, CHEMTHANE 8190 is not brittle and it allows the floor to move unlike ordinary epoxy concrete repair materials. The use of CHEMTHANE 8190 prevents contaminants from pooling in joint areas-especially necessary in food plants and other floor surfaces where sanitary conditions are required.
