December 18, 2002 - Bow-tie fiber is available at operating wavelengths of 1300 and 1550 nm, has cladding diameter of 80 µm and coating diameter of 165 µm. Reduced outer cladding diameter improves coil-turn density. Applications include fiber-optic gyroscopes, voltage and current sensors, high-data-rate communications systems, laser pigtailing, connectivity between source lasers and modulators, and polarization-sensitive components.

StockerYale Introduces Polarization Maintaining Fiber

Ideal for Fiber Optic Gyroscope and Sensor Applications

November, 2002 -- StockerYale, Inc., an independent leading designer and manufacturer of optical sub-components, presents its new line of Bow-tie polarization maintaining fiber. This fiber is the first in a series of polarization maintaining fibers to be released by the Company and are specifically designed for use in fiber optic gyroscopes, (FOGS), voltage and current sensors, high-data-rate communications systems, laser pigtailing, connectivity between source lasers and modulators, and polarization-sensitive components. StockerYale's advanced polarization maintaining fiber is designed for unparalleled performance and is available for immediate delivery.

StockerYale's polarization maintaining fiber is available at operating wavelengths of 1300 nm and 1550 nm, has a cladding diameter of 80 µm and a coating diameter of 165 µm. In addition, this best-in-class fiber has a high birefringence (hi-bi) to better maintain polarization and low attenuation to provide greater flexibility in system designs. Reduced outer cladding diameters also improve coil turn density and reliability.

StockerYale's team of scientists and engineers can also custom design a polarization maintaining fiber that meets a customer's exact specifications.
