June 3, 2009 - Suited for quadrupole and ion trap mass spectrometers using electron multiplier or photomultiplier detectors, modular DC series can be configured with 1-3 outputs of up to ±15 kV. Dynamic Control(TM) technology within output stages ensures fast and accurate settling after polarity change, with minimal overshoot. Output is stable, with ripple of 500 ppm p/p and drift of less than 0.01%/hr after 1 hr warm up, and modules provide true zero volt crossing and full linear control.

Fast Switching Power Supplies from Applied Kilovolts Offer Enhanced Performance for Mass Spectrometer Detectors

A range of fast polarity switching power supplies for high throughput mass spectrometers has been launched by Applied Kilovolts. The high performance modules are designed for multi-stage detector applications requiring a fast polarity switching dynode and fast settling electron multiplier output.

Suitable for quadrupole and ion trap mass spectrometers using electron multiplier or photomultiplier detectors, the new DC range is available from the company's Brandenburg division.

The modular design can be configured with one to three outputs of up to +/- 15 kV, which can be programmed remotely. Polarity switching is a fast 10 ms (at +/- 5 kV).

The use of Dynamic Control(TM) technology within the output stages ensures fast and accurate settling after polarity change, with minimal overshoot.

Output is highly stable, with ripple of 500ppm p/p and drift (after 1 hour warm up) of less than 0.01% per hour. The modules provide true zero volt crossing and full linear control, and include a voltage and current monitor. They are flashover and short circuit protected.

The new DC series complements the Brandenburg SC range of fast polarity switching power supplies designed for source mass spectrometer applications.
