19 Slim and Fanless Point-of-Care Terminal with Intel® Core(TM) Duo Performance
Advantech has released the POC-S196, a slim Point-of-Care (POC) terminal with a 19" high-contrast LCD, ideal for storage and retrieval of patient information, helping medical professionals focus on delivering better patient care and monitoring. The POC-S196 is both quiet and powerful, featuring a fanless design and an Intel® Core(TM) Duo processor with support for Microsoft Vista(TM). Its robust design is sealed against water and dust, meeting industry certification requirements, and the POC-S196 buttons are seamlessly integrated into the front panel for easy cleaning. A book light, trim knob and touchscreen make the POC-S196 easier than ever to use.
A Core Duo Processor in a Slim Design with a 19" LCD Display
The POC-S196 is powered by an Intel® Core(TM) Duo 1.66 GHz processor with memory expansion for up to 4 GB DDR2 SDRAM, optimized for multi-threaded applications and multitasking, with support for Microsoft Vista(TM). The slim design offers an ideal solution for space-conscious environments. In addition, excellent power efficiency balances great computing capabilities and power savings. The 19" LCD screen with its 1300 : 1 contrast ratio, allows patient charts and data to be more easily read, reducing errors and improving efficiency.
Quiet Operation and a Fanless Design
The fanless design allows the POC-S196 to operate quietly and reduces overall system noise, creating a better environment for patients and medical personnel. In addition, a fanless design minimizes dust inhalation and accumulation inside the machine.
Certified Robust Design
The robust design of the POC-S196 is certified with an IPX1 rating for a water resistant enclosure, an IP65 rating for a dust-tight panel, and medical certifications UL60601-1 and EN60601-1. It is also CE and FCC Class B certified to meet medical safety approval standards, with lower electrical emissions and resistance to electro-magnetic interference from other devices. The POC-S196 can be operated safely and reliably in demanding environments and as a result of its design, much closer to patients. It is water-splash proof and dust tight, yet can be easily cleaned with isopropyl alcohol and other cleaning agents.
