September 20, 2005 - Able to withstand temperatures to 428°F and pressures to 145 psi, Sitrans LPS200 rotating paddle switch detects full, empty, or demand conditions in material such as grain, plastic granules, and wood chips. Standard vane measures densities down to 6.25 lb/ft³, while hinged vane takes measurements from 2.19 lb/ft³. Installed vertically or horizontally, Sitrans LVS200 vibration level switch monitors levels of bulk solids from density of 1.3 lb/ft³. Interface version detects solids in liquids.

Siemens Introduces Point Level Switches For High-Pressure, High-Temperature, And Liquid/Solid Interfaces


SPRING HOUSE, Pa., Aug. 26, 2005 - Siemens Energy & Automation, Inc. introduces the Sitrans LPS200 paddle switch and Sitrans LVS200 vibrating level switch, now available in high-temperature, high-pressure, and interface versions. The new products provide reliable high- and low-level alarms for a wide variety of bulk solid applications. The new high-temperature version of the Sitrans LPS200 rotating paddle switch withstands temperatures of up to 428°F (220°C). The latest high-pressure version performs in environments with pressures up to 145 psi, and the new interface version of the Sitrans LVS200 vibrating point level switch detects solids in liquids. These switches are rugged in design, are easy to calibrate, and connect to alarm and control systems.
The Sitrans LPS200 rotating paddle switch is suitable for detecting full, empty, or demand conditions in materials including grain, animal feed, cement, plastic granules, and wood chips. This latest device has a dual bearing seal for protection against dust and humidity. A friction clutch mechanism also offers protection against falling material and prevents gear failure. The standard measuring vane is suitable for materials with densities as low as 6.25 lb/ft 3, and the hinged vane can take measurements from 2.19 lb/ft 3. The paddle sensitivity can be adjusted to suit varying material properties. Configurations available include a compact version, a version with protective pipe, and one with a cable extension up to 32 ft.

The new Sitrans LVS200 vibration level switch can be installed vertically or horizontally and monitors the levels of bulk solids from a density of 1.3 lb/ft 3. The new interface version now detects solids in liquids. A pipe extension kit of up to 14 ft has also been added to the product line, allowing the electronics to be separated from the process. Fork oscillation supports self-cleaning of the device. The patented design of the fork-and-crystal assembly eliminates false high-level readings.
