Emerson's New Rosemount Point Level Sensor Offers Reliable Performance in Extreme Temperatures

CHANHASSEN, MINN (April 6, 2009) - Emerson Process Management has launched a new extreme temperature version of its Rosemount® 2130 vibrating fork liquid level switch, designed for use in extremes of temperature from -94 to +500°F (-70 to +260°C). The new version has built-in fault monitoring/self-checking diagnostics, making it an ideal choice for a wide variety of challenging applications in the chemical, power generation and oil & gas industries.

The Rosemount 2130 level switch is already a popular choice for high and low level alarm and pump control duties. The switch is simple and easy-to-use, reliable in a wide range of applications and requires no on-site calibration. Addition of the extreme temperature version allows site managers the possibility to standardize on the Rosemount 2130 across a wide range of process environments.

The Rosemount 2130 "heart-beat" LED gives an instant visual indication that the unit is operational. In addition, the built-in fault monitoring/self diagnostics can detect any corrosion of the forks, or any other internal or external damage or breaks in the internal electrical wiring, which triggers a warning LED and fail-safe handling of the load.

Further functionality in the new version includes a low-density option suitable for liquids with a specific gravity down to 0.5 (500 kg/m3), a wide choice of electronic output options for use on their own, or as part of an analogue or digital plant monitoring network.

Like other models in the Rosemount 2130 range of vibrating fork point liquid level switches, the new model is available with 316L stainless steel as standard or corrosion resistant alloy C wet side as well as a choice of aluminium or stainless steel housing options.
