New Advanced Elmo Weatherproof Day/Night Network Camera with P.O.E Capability Simplifies Installation

PLAINVIEW, NY, DEC.1, 2006-The ELMO SN2230IPII Day/Night network camera is designed to meet the growing demand of installers and integrators for simplified installation. This new totally self-contained IP66-rated unit includes PoE (power over Ethernet) support via the camera's RJ45 port network connection and readily available third-party PoE bridges. The camera design eliminates the need for an outdoor housing and an external power source, reducing infrastructure requirements to a single cable.

The camera incorporates a built-in web server with dual compression format and analog video output in a single unit. The wide dynamic range camera can capture image details in lighting conditions that range from brilliant sunshine and glare to nearly complete darkness. The built-in IR illuminators have a range of 25-30 feet and work with camera's day/night functions during darkness. The camera's minimum illumination requirements are a low 0.35lx, (color) and 0.045lx, (B&W) with a removable IR cut filter for optimum performance, even at low light levels. DSP circuitry with a 1/3 inch IT 410,000 pixel CCD, backlight compensation, a 2.5x digital zoom and high quality 2.9-8.0mm vari-focal auto iris lens assure detailed close-ups. An easy to install heater option is available for cold weather applications.

The SN2230IPII delivers simultaneous MPEG4 and MJPEG output over the network to make high quality video viewable by standard web-browsers or through PC software, at the same time that its NTSC video output is sent to an analog CCTV system for display or recording. Users can monitor remote sites on their network and view real-time images on a PC from almost anywhere at anytime. Both the MEPG4 and MJPEG formats permit users to adjust frame rate up to 30fp and image size/quality up to full D1 to meet changing network conditions or application requirements. Up to 50 users of MJPEG or 3 users of MPEG4 can access a site simultaneously.

Built-in multi-zone motion detection triggers the recording of alarm images which can be transferred to an FTP server for later viewing. The camera can send an email alert to designated users as well as trigger its two output ports to control external devices.

IP filtering assures site security by restricting access to authorized users. Bi-directional audio capabilities enable clear 2-way voice communications with remote locations to sound-card equipped PCs over standard computer networks.
