Hirschmann v5.0 Platform Management Software enables Hirschmann RSR and MACH100 switch users to connect multiple rings to primary ring, promoting availability of networks by forming sub-rings. In combination with MICE PTP modules, software supports technology of Precision Time Protocol v2. It also accelerates boot-up times, optimizes HIPER-Ring as well as RSTP protocols, and allows various protocols to be combined. Other features include ping/logic and static route tracking.

Belden Announces Release of New Platform Software to Enhance Network Availability for Hirschmann(TM) Switches and Routers

Version 5.0 enables Hirschmann RSR and MACH100 switch customers to connect multiple rings to a primary ring, permitting a higher availability of networks by forming so-called 'sub-rings.'
In addition, Hirschmann Version 5.0 software accelerates boot-up times, it optimizes the HIPER-Ring and RSTP protocols, and it allows various protocols to be combined. Moreover, in combination with Hirschmann's new MICE PTP modules, Version 5.0 supports the new technology of the Precision Time Protocol Version 2.
