Plastic Idler Components suit corrosive environments.
March 20, 2003 - Made from UHMW or TeflonŽ, Plastic Idler Components eliminate need for ball bearings and metal parts. V-belt and round belt pulleys, blind- and through-bore idlers, sheaves, rollers, and roll end bearings are made from various plastics, dependent upon desired wear characteristics. With functionally equivalent to metal parts, they produce less noise due to lack of ball bearings. Custom components can include hubs, key ways, grooves, and additional requirements.

Plastic Idler Components Replace Metal in Corrosive Environments
Standard and custom plastic idler components that eliminate the need for ball bearings and metal parts, making them ideal for applications requiring wash down or frequent exposure to corrosive materials, are being introduced by SLIDEWAYS, Inc. of Shrewsbury, Massachusetts.
SLIDEWAYS Plastic Idler Components feature a variety of sheaves, pulleys, rollers, and roll end bearings made from various plastics, depending upon the desired wear characteristics. Functionally equivalent to metal parts, but quieter because there are no ball bearings, and less expensive too, they are ideal for applications requiring wash down or exposure to corrosives.
Made from UHMW which is a bearing-grade plastic, or TeflonŽ to provide high heat and chemical resistance, and nylon or MD-nylon or heavy-duty applications, SLIDEWAYS Plastic Idler Components come standard as V-belt and round belt pulleys, blind- and through bore idlers, and roll end bearings. Custom components can include hubs, key ways, grooves, and other requirements.
SLIDEWAYS Plastic Idler Components are priced according to size, configuration, and quantity. Literature and quotations are provided on request.
