Norgren Offers NSF-Approved Plastic Valves For The Water Purification Market

LITTLETON, COLO - October 29, 2007 - Clean drinking water is one of the most valuable resources on Earth. Very aware of its limited supply, Norgren Buschjost turned its attention to the water treatment and purification market years ago.

With the specific needs of the US water purification market in mind, Buschjost has developed its 84080 series of NSF 42 and NSF 61 section 9 approved plastic valves for drinking water systems. Their excellent surface finish and very good chemical resistance are bound to impress.

Stainless steel jacketed NPT threads, excellent flow performance, a water-hammer free design and Buschjost's unique Click-On® coil system are just a few of the features. Though designed for drinking water, the high-grade materials employed allow usage with demineralized water and slightly acidic fluids. These robust valves have a monolithically injection molded EPDM diaphragm to ensure a tight seal. Their design optimises flow capacities without sacrificing reliability and makes them virtually maintenance free.

These diaphragm valves are actuated by solenoids from the Click-on® system. This enables rapid and tool free installation of coils with voltages from 12V to 230V and frequencies of 50 or 60Hz. The series includes 1/2" and 3/4" threads and is rated for pressures from 0.3 to 10.5 bar (4.5 to 155 PSI).

Additionally, this series is available with a latching coil feature, allowing minimal power consumption. The 84080 series greatly complements Buschjost's existing line of products for the water treatment and purification industry:

o Buschjost's brass, stainless steel and plastic diaphragm valves have been developed specifically for handling water and are ideal for controlling both the intake and flow of the treatment process
o Buschjost's solenoid valves without differential pressure, which are increasingly being incorporated into custom solutions, are proven products, for example for controlling ozone or air

Buschjost products and tailored solutions may be found in applications ranging from seawater desalination though to water sample analysis.
