Schleuniger, Inc. to Debut Software Solution at Electrical Wire Processing Technology Expo
Press release date: March 11, 2014
Schleuniger to introduce S.WOP, S.oftware for Wire Optimized Production
Schleuniger, Inc., a leading international manufacturer of high-precision wire processing machines, will be among the over 130 world-class suppliers and service companies to exhibit at the 2014 Electrical Wire Processing Technology Expo. This exclusive showcase for the wire and cable processing industry will be held May 14 – 15, 2014 at The Wisconsin Center in Milwaukee, WI. Schleuniger will be at booth #1731 providing hands-on demonstrations of innovative solutions for stripping, cutting, sealing, crimping, and marking of all types of wire and cable. Each attendee to stop by the Schleuniger booth and take a product tour will be entered into a raffle to win one of two JBL Pulse wireless speakers.
As part of their exhibition, Schleuniger will debut S.WOP (S.oftware for Wire Optimized Production). S.WOP manages the planning and monitoring of all wire processing machines in a factory. S.WOP extracts data from an order management system, optimizes orders according to the most efficient production workflow, and assigns them to individual machines. By controlling and monitoring the entire wire processing operation over a local network with S.WOP, productivity and quality are greatly increased. Administrative work, WIP, inventory, lead times, and overall costs are also reduced. At the trade show, several Schleuniger machines will be networked with S.WOP, allowing attendees to experience its powerful capabilities first-hand.
Another new product Schleuniger will unveil at the show is the PreFeeder 3300; a cable feeding system for spools weighing up to 150 kg (330 lbs). This powerful prefeeder features an electric reel lift, pneumatically controlled accumulator, and a shaftless design for easy loading and unloading of reels, all at an attractive price.
In addition, for the first time at the Electrical Wire Processing Expo, Schleuniger will be showing the new SemiRigid 1050 coaxial cable stripping machine. The SemiRigid 1050 is a highly specialized machine for stripping aluminium or copper jacketed semi-rigid coaxial cable. This easy to use machine features a color touchscreen user interface and intuitive programming thanks to the excellent menu navigation and predefined cable stripping templates.
The company will also provide attendees with a sneak peek of two new products that are scheduled for release later this year, SealCam and SmartDetect. The new SealCam provides advanced seal and wire quality monitoring during seal application and works for of all types of seals. This gives users full control of tolerance parameters and crystal clear indicators of any errors that have occurred during the seal application process. SmartDetect, which detects if the blades touch the inner conductor during stripping, is a new feature that will soon be available as an option on CrimpCenter automatic crimping machines. SmartDetect works with all known conductor materials and has no effect on production rate.
The MegaStrip 9650 automatic cut and strip machine will also be highlighted. The machine’s modular design and wide range of processing capabilities make the MegaStrip 9650 a sustainable investment for the future. With fast feeding speeds and high stripping forces, this powerful, yet precise machine is designed to provide the highest possible productivity and performance. Outstanding ease-of-use thanks to its extensive library of predefined cable types, processes, and operations rounds out the MegaStrip 9650’s impressive list of features.
Additional products Schleuniger will demonstrate include the CrimpCenter 36 S, PowerStrip 9550, OmniStrip 9450, EcoStrip 9300, StripCrimp 200, UniStrip 2300, and RotaryStrip 2300 among others. Equipment from the CT series of wire crimping machines will also be shown.
In addition to exhibiting at the trade show, Schleuniger‘s North American Key Account and Crimping Product Manager, Gustavo Garcia-Cota, will present an educational seminar on the benefits of networking wire processing equipment through the use of software. The presentation, “Optimizing your Wire Processing Operation,” will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2014 at 10:30 am in room 201and is open to all conference attendees. Designed to educate attendees on the various factors that influence production output, efficiency and quality in wire processing operations, the presentation will cover a wide variety of areas including, production scheduling, tracking, optimization, crimp tooling management, quality control and Overall-Equipment-Effectiveness (OEE).
