July 29, 2003 - Constructed for passenger and service elevators, ZF-Ecolift models RME 310 and RME 410 use 2-stage planetary gear design to transmit power to sheave and fulfill elevator technical regulations TRA 200 and TRA 220-229. Suited for motor speeds of 1,000, 1,500, and 3,000 rpm, products may be used with motors up to 50 hp and offer load capacity of up to 5,500 lbs. Units emit low noise due to helical planetary gearing and offer cabin speeds to 13 ft/sec.

ZF Industrial Drives Introduces New Line of Planetary Gearboxes for Elevator Applications

Vernon Hills, IL – ZF Industries' Industrial Drives Group now offers ZF-Ecolift Planetary Gearboxes specifically designed for elevator movement applications. High acceleration power, sustaining long periods of usage, and adhering to strict safety standards are primary requirements for elevator gearbox technology – all of which are met with ZF-Ecolift Planetary Gearboxes.

ZF-Ecolift models RME 310 and RME 410 have been constructed for both passenger and service elevators. ZF-Ecolift benefits from the use of a two-stage planetary gear design to transmit power to the sheave rather than using worm gears, and fulfills elevator technical regulations TRA 200 and TRA 220-229 as well as the European elevator standard DIN EN 81. ZF-Ecolift Planetary Gearboxes are suitable for motor speeds of 1000 rpm, 1500 rpm (standard) and 3000 rpm. For frequency inverter applications, speed can be increased or decreased referencing the standard speed, which makes the use of multiple sheave sizes obsolete.

ZF-Ecolift:

• Use with motors up to 50 HP.

• Load capacity up to 5,500 lbs.

• Low noise due to helical planetary gearing.

• High-efficiency, 96%, allows use of smaller electric motors (reduced switch-on electrical power required).

• Optimized gear tooth shape ensures long-lasting, wear-resistant performance.

• Cabin speeds up to 13 ft/sec.

• Allows rope double-looping without additional support bearing.

• Simple motor mounting and easy maintenance.

• Low oil temperatures even under full load and maximum speed.
