Ridge Tool Introduces Aluminum RAPIDGRIP(TM) Wrench

ELYRIA, OH - March 2004 - Ridge Tool Company has recently introduced an aluminum version of its popular RAPIDGRIP(TM) wrench. The RAPIDGRIP wrench is an innovative, heavy-duty, self-adjusting pipe wrench that is designed for one-handed operation with a rapid ratcheting action.

The aluminum RAPIDGRIP wrench is available in two sizes-14" and 18". The aluminum handle, which is silver in color, makes the wrench 35% lighter than existing comparable ductile wrenches. The aluminum RAPIDGRIP wrench is ideal for overhead applications, and applications where a ductile wrench would get heavy or be used for a long time.

The wrench's spring-loaded hook jaw design quickly adjusts to any size work surface and its aggressive, patented tooth design ensures a secure grip. A unique thumb trigger allows users easy application and removal from the work piece. The wrench's V-groove hook design enables the ratcheting action to be performed quickly and effortlessly.

Unlike traditional pipe wrenches, there is no need to tighten an adjustment nut with the RAPIDGRIP wrench, making it faster and more efficient than standard wrenches.

"The success of the original RAPIDGRIP wrenches led us to extend the line with a lighter, aluminum version of the wrench," said David Schramm, product manager, hand tools, at Ridge Tool.

The aluminum RAPIDGRIP wrench can be used on any type of pipe. The 14" model has a jaw capacity of 2"; and the 18" model has a jaw capacity of 2-1/2".

Constructed of a forged steel jaw and an aluminum handle, the RAPIDGRIP has replaceable parts. The aluminum RAPIDGRIP wrenches, like all RIDGID products, are backed by a lifetime warranty from Ridge Tool Company.

Ridge Tool Company, a leading manufacturer of hand and power tools, markets its products in more than 130 countries. The company's broad offering includes threading and drain cleaning machines, and more than 300 types of tools serving the rental, plumbing, HVAC/R, industrial, electrical, petroleum, institutional, commercial and hardware markets.
