New Compact Pipe Welding System for Site Work

Magnatech introduces the new Pipemaster Model 510 Pipe Welding System for automation of pressure pipe welding for pipe 1" (25mm) and larger. The compact GTAW process weld Heads are designed for making multiple pass welds on pressure piping where the pipe cannot be rotated. Although designed with multipass full-function capability, the Model 510 will operate Magnatech's complete line of GTAW weld Heads, including fusion-only type Heads and tube-to-tubesheet Heads.

The Model 510 Pipemaster incorporates a 300-amp power source with the weld Head controls and microprocessor programming capability. Controls are provided for weld Head rotation, arc voltage control, torch oscillation, and filler wire feed. The portable Model 510 is designed for field use and can easily be moved around a job site. The Pipemaster Water Cooler quickly attaches to the bottom of the power source, allowing both of them to be moved as one unit.

The Pipemaster can store up to 100 weld programs internally for various pipe sizes and wall thicknesses. Programs are stored on standard PC data cards for transferal between systems or storage. Offline programming software allows a convenient way of creating new programs on a standard PC, and also offers a filing system for program parameters and other specific weld information. The welder has only to install the weld Head on the pipe and call up the correct weld program to be run. Multiple pass welds can be made from the root to cap pass in one continuous process.
