Providing clamping range from ½-4 in. pipe diameter, manually operated Model PBM-4 can bevel up to 17 mm in one pass. It requires only 40 seconds to make 30° bevel on duplex 4 in. steel pipe with 13 mm wall. Users can change from one size pipe to another without changing or replacing insert holders. Heavy-duty, self-centering prism clamp holds pipe firmly in place. Machine is suited for offshore construction, shipbuilding, and pipeline construction.

"Producing weld preparations is done in seconds"
The company Th. Wortelboer, worldwide known as the leader in stationary pipe beveling machines, has developed a new and economical version of the PBM pipe end preparation machines.
The line of PBM machines will be extended with a small PBM-4. This price worthy machine will have the same quality and endurance as the bigger versions and is able to make a bevel in a few seconds. The PBM-4 has a clamping range from 1/2 inch up to 4 inch pipe diameter and can bevel up to 17 mm. in one pass.
It only takes 40 seconds to make a 30° bevel on a duplex steel pipe of 4" with a 13 mm wall.
The introduction will take place in April 2006 on the international exhibition "TUBE 2006" in Diisseldorf- Germany.
The standard PBM-4 is fully manual operated. With the heavy duty self-centering prism clamp the pipe is hold firmly in place. After starting the motor, the tool head can easily be moved by hand towards the pipe to make a bevel. All these handlings take place in a few seconds which makes the PBM-4 a very fast machine. Anyone with a basic knowledge of machining can operate the machine under any circumstance because of the simplicity of the machine.
An inventive tool set covers the complete range of pipes between 1/4 inch an 4 inch pipe size. The insert holders in the tool set make it possible that one can change from one size to another of pipe without changing or replacing the insert holders. Tubes with a thicker wall can be machined in one operation.
The PBM-4 and our other PBM pipe end preparation machines up to diameter 30" pipe (O.D. 770 mm) can be used for offshore construction, shipbuilding, pipeline constructions and so on.
