May 17, 2004 - Model MELT 30-40XP custom personnel platform is self-propelled, allowing workers to position themselves vertically and horizontally alongside job at hand by using onboard controls. Features include on-board system control with auxiliary operator controls, rivet storage bins, and automatic retraction of power cables onto reel. Measuring 212 in. long x 72 in. wide, product has 130 in. vertical travel and hydraulic actuation.

Custom Personnel Lift Increases Productivity for Railcar Manufacturer
(Niagara Falls, NY May 13, 2004) Handling Specialty’s custom personnel platforms were designed to provide ergonomic and productivity improvements for a rail car manufacturer. Replacing awkward scaffolding, these 4,000 lb. capacity lift platforms are used to install metal screening on the exterior of the rail cars. Since the lift is self-propelled workers can comfortably position themselves both vertically and horizontally alongside the rail cars by using the onboard controls.
Features include an on-board full system control with auxiliary operator controls, rivet storage bins and automatic retraction of power cables onto a reel. Safety considerations include a guard rail and kick plate system as well as full bellows and a safety ladder with electronic interlock.
