Casella Apex(TM) Lite Personal Air Sampling Pump Is Affordable Safety Solution
AMHERST, NH, May 21, 2009 - Casella USA is now offering industrial hygiene and safety professionals an affordable, entry-level personal air sampling pump that tests the breathing zone for particles such as lead, dust, asbestos, VOC's and other airbourne contaminates.
The Casella Apex Lite is a modified version of the original Apex Personal Sampling Pump. It features a versatile flow rate of 800 to 5000 ml/m, plus can mount low flow adapters from 5 to 750 ml/m. Its bright LCD display allows technicians to view real time flow rates, volume sampled, elapsed sample time, temperature, operating mode and program details. A maximum of 100 events can be stored in memory on the Pro version of the Apex Lite.
Because it was designed for occasional or emergency stand-by sampling, the Apex Lite is supplied with a one-time alkaline battery pack that does not require rechargable battery downtime. Simply insert 4 x AA cell batteries, calibrate, add the appropriate head with filter and the pump is ready for action with up to 45 hour run times at 2 L/min with a 25 mm GFA filter. It can also be easily upgraded to accept a regular NiMH battery pack for more extensive field use.
Like all Casella products, the Apex Lite has been designed for demanding environments. It has a ruggedized black plastic molded body that resists fingerprints and marking, along with a hardened LCD screen to prevent accidental damage. In addition, the company has installed inlet foam filters inside to prevent dust ingress.
