Peroxide-Stable Polymers for Carpet-Cleaning Formulations

CANTON, MA — Interpolymer Corp. introduces two new polymers specifically designed for peroxide containing carpet-cleaning products. Because of the lower pH of many new carpet-cleaning solutions containing peroxide, Interpolymer has adapted its product line and now has available a low-pH soil-suspension agent as well as a low-pH embrittling agent.

Interpolymer’s Syntran® 4022 is a low molecular weight, sodium acrylate solution polymer that boosts a liquid carpet cleaner’s ability to loosen and remove dirt particles.

Interpolymer’s Syntran 4020 is a high molecular weight emulsion polymer designed to encapsulate dirt during the shampooing cycle and facilitate its removal when the carpet is vacuumed after drying. Carpets treated with cleaning formulations containing Syntran 4020 show significantly improved resoil resistance.

Both Syntran 4022 and Syntran 4020 polymers are evidence of Interpolymer’s ability to quickly adapt its product line to respond to the latest market requirements.

Interpolymer Corp., headquartered in Canton, Massachusetts, is a leading producer of specialty polymers and wax emulsions with regional headquarters and production facilities in the United States and Europe and sales offices in Germany, France, and China. Interpolymer’s Syntran and Megatran brand polymers are used in many personal care products, household products, and specialty compounds that are used to clean or protect floors of all types including stone, marble, and wood.
