Remote-Operated Dynamic Lift(TM) Magnet to Debut at Fabtech

Boyne City, MI - Industrial Magnetics, Inc. will be introducing an entirely new kind of lifting magnet to the market at the Fabtech Expo in Chicago on November 14-17, 2011.

Their new, DynamicLift(TM) , featuring MagSwitch(TM) technology, is the first "remote operated" permanent lift magnet that allows an operator to turn the magnet on/off using a remote control, without the need of air or electricity. Not only does this give the operator freedom from electrical cords and air hoses, but also opens up a whole new range of lifting possibilities where accessibility to the magnet was cumbersome or impossible to reach, such as lifting above or below arm's length or into deep channels, loading or unloading CNC/cutting tables and operation from inside the forklift.

This compact, yet powerful, Rare Earth lift magnet can be used on flat or round surfaces and contains an internal on/off release device that does not contact or damage the surface of the part being lifted. For operator safety, the magnet is equipped with a special sensor that will not allow release unless the load is settled on a surface. Additionally, the remote requires a special release button sequence, so that a single button push cannot accidentally release the load.

IMI's Dynamic Lift conforms to ASME B30.20 Standards and includes two, 12 volt rechargeable, Lithium-ion batteries with charger that can operate up to 200 cycles per charge. The magnet is heat resistant up to 180°F and has up to a 600lb. lift capacity.

About IMI: Since 1961, Industrial Magnetics, Inc. has provided innovative permanent magnet and electromagnetic devices to meet customer's specific requirements in their material handling, workholding and automated or robotic applications.
