CAS DataLoggers Introduces Labor-Saving Paperless Chart Recorder

6-channel Solution for Real Time Process Monitoring

CHESTERLAND OH-

Many companies continue to rely on outdated paper chart recorders for monitoring temperature and other values in their machines and equipment, but finding all this information on hard copy is time-consuming and also difficult to organize and archive. Increasingly, businesses need new solutions which can visualize their data on a display so that users can instantly check it in real time and respond with just a glance. Now CAS DataLoggers has the solution with the Brainchild 6-Channel Paperless Chart Recorder, an economical replacement for old paper chart technology to enable instant visualization of the data and also streamline process data and archiving. These data loggers feature an LCD display to bring customers' data to life so that users can monitor, record, and evaluate plant processes in a wide variety of industries including chemical, food and beverage, automotive, environmental monitoring, and laboratory applications.

The Brainchild's built-in display allows for clear review of collected data on its high-resolution 6.4'' VGA Color LCD display (true VGA, 640x480 pixels) with flexible screen configuration and multiple display formats for viewing the data. The Brainchild features up to 6 isolated analog input channels for measuring voltage, current, thermocouples or RTDs, and also offers 6 user-configurable plug and play I/O card slots. The datalogger has a fast sampling rate within 200msec for all 6 channels at high accuracy and also boasts several mathematical and programmable capabilities including statistics with instant, average, and min/max values. The Brainchild also features digital I/O and Ethernet, removable flash memory data storage, and a plug & play I/O card. The recorder's user-friendly setup and operation ensures that customers quickly get up and running with their projects, and users can choose to store their data on PC or the device itself via Flash ROM and compact Flash card. Customers can also configure the recorder's variable alarms and messages to get instant notification of critical events such as temperatures suddenly going out of specification.

The Brainchild paperless chart recorder is a completely stand-alone solution with an interactive dialogue and convenient soft function keys enabling convenient navigation including scrolling back to review historical trends. Users can monitor their live data in real time and ensure that their process is operating at all the correct parameters. The Brainchild's data retention is specified at a minimum of 10 years with zero power data retention. Historical data can be stored in Flash ROM, on the removable Compact Flash memory card's 128MB standard storage space, or collected in a remote host PC for data evaluation and print-out. Additionally, the Brainchild's standard Ethernet and optional RS-232/RS-422/RS485 communication enable operators to access data on the screen as well as onsite from a remote location via the RS serial interface or Ethernet networking.

The device's expandable modular architecture offers high flexibility, and offers optional panel mount and bench top/portable configurations with included assembly kits. The Brainchild paperless recorder saves companies all the extra time and labor costs spent searching through vast amounts of hard copy records to find vital data, while featuring the same functionality and integrating into users' existing systems to improve accuracy and data accessibility.
