New All-In-One Panel PC Brings Rugged Workstation Power To Variety Of Business/Factory Applications
City Of Industry, CA (December 14, 2001) - Broadax Systems, Inc. today announced the introduction and immediate availability of their new rugged panel PC. the RMS-4000. The full function panel PC is the combination of a desktop computer and monitor in one industrial strength and attractive flat panel form factor that performs equally as well on the desktop as the manufacturing floor. With up to Pentium® III 850MHz CPU and built-in networking, expansion slots and performance features, the RMS-4000 is designed and ideally suited for POS, POI, KIOSK, Banking, Medical, Factory Floor and Telecom industries where space is a premium and system reliability is a must even in inclement weather of outdoor applications or dusty and dirty production floors.
With a large 14.1" TFT 120 nits color resistive touch screen with optional 15.1" TFT 200 nits resistive touch screen, the RMS-4000 provides a beneficial and adaptable medium for companies across both sides of industrial and business applications. The system's two 1/2 length expansion slots and all-in-one design can be easily customized for the demanding needs of any computing purpose of most business applications, while at the same time its water and dust-proof ruggedized front panel meets applications such as industrial and process automation of plant floors and the extreme environments and climate conditions of the outdoors.
The RMS-4000 is mounted on an angle-adjusted pedestal and is adaptable for desk, bench top, or wall applications. An onboard 10/100 Ethernet chipset links the RMS-4000 to office and factory networks, and an infrared wireless keyboard and mouse is an added option for extra versatility and flexibility needed for special location consideration and uses. The system is expandable with two PCI or one each ISA/PCI slots and easily converts to a powerful workstation with a parallel and COM port, keyboard and mouse connectors. RCA jacks, VGA, USB, DIO, MIC-in/Line-in/Speaker-out, and even TV-out ports round out the wide selection of potential functions for the RMS-4000.
The system is equipped with Intel's Pentium® III or Celeron processors, Award PnP Flash BIOS, SDRAM up to 256MB, M-System DiskOnChip flash disk support up to 144MB, and an XGA chipset, C&T69000 with built-in 4MB DRAM. Peripheral devices built into the system include built-in speakers and slim type CD-ROM, slim type fixed disk drive (FDD) and 3.5" hard disk drive (HDD). The system is also easily connected to external peripheral devices on the back.
