Red Lion Cub5 Series Panel Meters Now Feature UV- and Scratch-Resistant Window for Increased Durability

Red Lion Controls, Inc. announces that its CUB5 line of panel meters now feature a UV- and scratch-resistant window for enhanced durability in sunlit applications. The added UV- and scratch-resistant window makes these panel meters ideal for demanding outdoor applications, as well as harsh plant environments. The resistance against yellowing and distortion allows for enhanced readability-clearly conveying readouts and status on harvesters, picking machines, and other equipment. The enhanced CUB5 series also offers clear visibility in indoor applications while withstanding damage from accidental contact that may occur on busy plant floors, delivering long operational life and dependable performance.

"CUB5 Series Panel Meters utilize LCD displays that typically have a lifespan of 60,000 hours; however, excessive exposure to sunlight can reduce the longevity of the display, resulting in a premature need for a replacement meter," said Jeff Thornton, product manger for Red Lion. "The UV- and scratch-resistant window protects the display from damaging UV rays, defending against yellowing and distortion that comes from prolonged exposure to direct sunlight." Thornton adds, "This enhancement makes certain our panel meters continue to provide our customers with unprecedented value, quality and longevity."

The proven CUB5 series offers a modular design in a space-saving footprint, with simply programmable models available to measure DC current and voltage, process meter and sensor signals, and accept inputs from Thermocouple and RTD sensors. The meters are easily programmed through convenient front panel buttons or using Red Lion's free downloadable CrimsonŽ software, which offers comprehensive data logging tools and allows users to program multiple meters at once. Additional standard features in CUB5 models that ensure versatility and ease-of-use include:
  • Compact 1.54" x 2.95" (39 x 77mm) housing
  • Clearly visible 8-digit, 0.46" (12mm) LCD display
  • Rugged NEMA 4X/IP65 sealed front bezel
  • Dual counter or counter/rate indicator capabilities
  • User-selectable bright red or green LED backlighting
  • Optional modules available for adding output capabilities or serial communications (RS-232 and RS-485)
  • UV- and scratch-resistant window for enhanced durability
