Hitachi Power Tools Introduces a New Pancake Air Compressor, the EC79

NORCROSS, February 21, 2006 - Hitachi Power Tools today announced its newest addition to the air compressor market, the EC79. This oil-free, 6 gallon pancake air compressor features a contractor grade induction motor, integrated control panel and easy to use ball valve tank drain, while illustrating Hitachi's signature Inspire Design. The EC79 offers users a simple to operate, high performance, maintenance-free air compressor.

Hitachi's EC79 combines portability with simplified operation. The pancake design makes the compressor smaller and more compact to transport easily from job to job or around a home. The EC79 can fit into spaces and corners where larger compressors can not making it a great choice for small workshops or places where space is limited.

The EC79 incorporates a contractor grade induction motor for extended life. This 2 peak HP/ 1 Run HP compressor operates on standard household current drawing only 13 Amps, while its 6 gallon tank provides reserve of air supply. In addition to dependable, long term performance, the induction motor is dramatically quieter than competitive universal motor models. Users will find the 2.7 cfm (90 psi) compressor capable of accomplishing short burst applications with tools like finish nailers and staplers.

"This oil-free pancake compressor requires minimal maintenance for plug and play convenience," says Brad Miller, Senior Product Manager, Hitachi Power Tools. "The combination of the EC79 with our award winning finish nailer line results in the ideal finish contractor system."

The signature Hitachi "Inspire" design is incorporated into the EC79 shroud, covering all moving parts and providing extra protection against damage during transport. The compact size and well positioned carrying handle on top make this unit highly portable and convenient to use.

The EC79 ships complete with a factory installed ¼" coupler and ball valve tank drain. For more information including the full line of Hitachi products and support, please contact Hitachi Power Tools at 1-800-829-4752 or visit www.hitachipowertools.com
