Kryptonite Launches High Security HASP Series; Shackle-Less Padlock
Lock Manufacturer Extends Mobile Security Product Offering
Canton, MA March 17, 2003 - Kryptonite, a brand in Ingersoll-Rand's Security and Safety Americas Sector portable security business unit, announces a new line of security hasps as well as a shackle-less padlock used with two of the hasps. The offering comes as the FBI reports that property theft resulted in $8.5 billion lost in 2001*. The hasps range in price from $8 - $21 and will be available this spring.
"Kryptonite is passionate about giving consumers a great variety of high security products for all of their needs while completely frustrating thieves," said Tom Quigley, Vice President, Portable Security, Kryptonite.
"The new line of hasps and the accompanying Shackle-Less Padlock allow consumers to have a complete Kryptonite security system for their vehicles, buildings and machines. The Kryptonite Professional Padlocks work with these hasps as well, giving even greater flexibility for most applications."
The new hasp series includes five hasps and the Shackle-Less Padlock. Four of the hasps come with the mounting hardware for easy installation on warehouse doors, overhead commercial doors, vans, trailers, garages, sheds and barns. These padlocks can be keyed alike to each other as well as keyed alike to other locks with the same keyway.

The Vehicle Hasp has a solid hardened steel body, which resists attacks by cutting, sawing or hammering. The sides create a shrouded environment for the padlock for maximum security against prying attacks. Used with the Shackle-Less Padlock provides maximum protection. Suggested retail: $21.00
The 90 Degree Hasp comes with installation hardware and is ideal for use on corners and angles. A solid hardened steel body resists cutting, sawing and hammering attacks. When used with Kryptonite's Professional Padlocks it provides high security for many applications. The hasp is 4 ¼" X 1 5/8". Suggested retail: $9.25
The Flexible Steel Hasp has a solid hardened steel body, which resists attacks by cutting, sawing or hammering. The hasp comes with installation hardware and can be used on corners and angles. When used with Kryptonite's Shackle-Less Padlock or Professional Padlocks, it provides high security for many applications. The hasp is 7 ¾" X 1 ¾". Suggested retail: $8.25
The Steel Bar Hasp comes with installation hardware for convenient mounting. The solid hardened steel body resists cutting, sawing and hammering attacks. When used with the Kryptonite Shackle-Less Padlock it provides maximum protection against thieves. The hasp is 7 ¼" X 1 5/8". Suggested retail: $8.25
The Center Hole Hasp has a solid hardened steel body, which resists attacks by cutting, sawing or hammering. The included installation hardware makes for convenient mounting. When used with the Kryptonite Shackle-Less Padlock it provides maximum protection against thieves. The hasp is 5" X 2". Suggested retail: $8.00
All of these weatherproof products will be available this spring at all Menards home improvement centers and limited distribution at Lowe's Home Improvement Warehouse and The Home Depot locations.
