New Autobag OneStep Bagging Systems for Short-run & Fulfillment Packaging Applications

STREETSBORO, OH - June 6, 2006 - Automated Packaging Systems, the world leader in high-reliability packaging systems, announces the introduction of a new line of packaging systems. The Autobag® AB 180 OneStep(TM) and Autobag® AB 255 OneStep(TM) are both designed to provide flexible solutions for dynamic packaging environments, such as mail order fulfillment, short production runs, spare parts distribution, and build-on-demand operations.

By positioning the PI 412c imprinter directly over the next bag to be loaded, these OneStep baggers print and index in a single step - virtually eliminating bag waste and product queuing. The next-bag-out technology ensures accuracy and efficiency in packaging applications that require frequent product and label changeovers. Bag sizes can be changed in less than two minutes.

The AB 180 OneStep is ideal for packaging small to medium products in bags up to 11 inches wide and 25 inches long. The AB 255 OneStep is available in vertical or horizontal configurations, and is designed for larger products with bag sizes up to 16 inches wide and 27 inches long. Both packaging systems operate at speeds up to 30 bags per minute, printing high-resolution text, graphics and bar codes up to 12 inches per second.

These new packaging systems can be utilized as standard Print-n-Pack(TM) systems, or integrated with a variety of productivity options, including laptop computers, bar code scanners, and stand alone keyboards. Onboard diagnostics and modular components ensure maximum uptime.

"These new OneStep packaging systems are optimized for flexibility, from the operator-friendly AutoTouch(TM) Control Screen to the tilt-back printer head for easy maintenance," says Tim Groff, Director of Marketing. "They can be easily integrated with shipping and customer databases for 1:1 fulfillment, packing and shipping."

All of Automated Packaging Systems' products are backed by a nationwide network of factory-direct field service engineers.
