Opensource Box Shot Making Software Produces Satisfactory Images
ConnectCode is pleased to announce the release of ConnectCode Software Box Shot Maker, an open source project for producing for 3D images of software boxes.
It works by taking in two to three images comprising the sides of the box, and building a 3D scene automatically from them into a realistic picture of the software box.
The quality of the results is almost comparable to commerically produced ones. Basic features like box orientation, box size and camera position are merged into a slider-based user interface dialog to provide an easily adjustable preview.
The opensource nature of the tool gives anyone interested in writing or extending a box shot making software an opportunity to create their own custom box shots using more advanced algorithms.
