PVDF Tubing resists permeation and abrasion.

Press Release Summary:

Featuring Shore D hardness of D75-D85, PVDF Tubing comes in Flex® and SuperFlex® designs for critical applications where abrasion and/or permeation is problematic. PVDF is suitable for applications requiring high purity, strength, and resistance to solvents. Material also has 94-VO rating, so it resists combustion and does not promote flame spread. Available in sizes from 1/8–1 in. OD, SuperFlex design offers 10x flexibility of standard Flex tubing.

Parker PVDF Tubing Resists Permeation and Abrasion

FORT WORTH, TX – Parker Hannifin, the global leader in motion and control technologies, extrudes PVDF tubing in a Flex® and SuperFlex® design for critical applications where abrasion and/or permeation is typically a problem. PVDF is an engineered fluoropolymer designed with enhanced durometer properties (Shore D hardness of D75-D85). PVDF also exhibits low extractable levels, while providing high mechanical strength and good resistance to many chemicals and solvents.

Because of the low permeability and the increased durometer, PVDF is often used in applications requiring the highest purity, strength and resistance to solvents. It is also very flexible and has a 94-VO rating, hence it does not promote flame spread and resists combustion.

The PVDF SuperFlex design offer 10x the flexibility of the standard Flex tubing. Standard product sizes range from 1/8” up to 1” O.D. and are available from the Parflex Division’s Texloc product line.

With annual sales exceeding $13 billion in fiscal year 2012, Parker Hannifin is the world’s leading diversified manufacturer of motion and control technologies and systems, providing precision-engineered solutions for a wide variety of mobile, industrial and aerospace markets.
