Phase Lock Loop Synthesizer: PCA2010A-LF Features Compact Packaging



Z-Communications, Inc. announces a new RoHS compliant Phase Lock Loop Synthesizer model PCA2010A-LF for satellite communications. The PCA2010A-LF is a low powered frequency synthesizer that operates from 1990 to 2030 MHz with a 1 MHz step size in a package measuring only 0.50 in. x 0.50 in. x 0.13 in. This miniature PLL provides phase noise of -100 dBc/Hz @ 10 kHz offset and can be quickly and easily programmed through a 3-wire serial interface.



The PCA2010A-LF is designed to deliver a typical output power of 3 dBm into a 50Ω load while operating off a single supply voltage of 5 Vdc and typically only consuming 40 mA of current. This high performance PLL spurious and 2nd harmonic suppression is -70 and -15 dBc, respectively, and is designed to operate over the industrial temperature of -40 to 70°C. The PCA2010A-LF is available in tape and reel packaging for production requirements making it ideal for automated surface mount assembly and reflow. The PCA2010A-LF is also well suited for microwave radio applications.
