Beverage Hot-Fill PET Bottles

November 19, 2008

EATONTOWN, NJ - Novapak has introduced a new PET beverage bottle in 12 oz. and 20 oz. sizes for juices and juice drinks, isotonics, sports drinks, teas, enhanced water and dairy beverages. It features ribs and panels that provide strength and stability for hot filling, and resist deformation during stacking and distribution.

Both containers are molded of monolayer PET resin and can be filled at temperatures to 185°F (85°C). The 12 oz. container (Mold #1069) is 6.5" high and 2.482" in diameter, has a 38MM VAJ neck, and weighs 27 grams. The 20 oz. container (Mold #1070) is 7.992" high and 2.880" in diameter, has a 38MM VAJ neck, and weighs 36 grams.

The containers weigh approximately 90 percent less than comparable glass containers, and offer an opportunity to implement "reduce, reuse and recycle" sustainability strategies. Lower shipping costs and increased employee safety are also realized, according to the company.

Novapak is a major producer of PET, PVC, PP, HDPE and in-line fluorinated HDPE containers for specialty chemical, personal care, healthcare, food, beverage, household and automotive applications. The company is headquartered in Eatontown, NJ, and operates ISO 9001:2000 certified plants in New York, Pennsylvania, Illinois and South Carolina.
