Original Press Release:

Agilent Technologies Introduces High-Precision 12-bit PCIe Digitizer that Delivers Multi-Gigahertz Real-Time Processing

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) today introduced the U5303A, a compact dual-channel PCIe digitizer with 12-bit resolution, sampling up to 3.2 GS/s, and on-board real-time processing. It delivers unprecedented analog fidelity, high effective number of bits and very low noise.

The new digitizer offers outstanding performance in a small footprint: DC-to-1.8 GHz bandwidth, 9.1 ENOB at 100 MHz, 58 dB signal-to-noise ratio and very high data-transfer rates from an eight-lane PCIe 2.0 interface. As a result, the U5303A is an ideal 12-bit high-speed digitizer for systems in commercial, industrial, aerospace and defense applications. Uses include medical imaging, environmental monitoring, analytical time-of-flight, ultrasonic nondestructive testing and radar.

The versatile U5303A gives users the ability to integrate advanced real-time signal processing within the embedded Xilinx Virtex-6 field-programmable gate array. This is made possible by the Agilent FPGA development kit for high-speed digitizers. This software kit provides interfaces that leverage the full density and speed of the FPGA while ensuring the digitizer’s outstanding level of performance at multi-gigasamples per second.

“By coupling high resolution with high precision, the U5303A is one of the best products in its class,” said Didier Lavanchy, operation manager for Agilent’s high-speed digitizers. “Its development leverages innovations that were first introduced in the 12-bit AXIe digitizer, which was named a 2013 Best in Test winner by Test & Measurement World magazine.”

The U5303A PCIe high-speed digitizer extends Agilent’s portfolio of PCIe-based products and high-speed digitizer cards, which also includes solutions in the AXIe and PXIe formats. To ease integration of the module into a PC, the U5303A also includes a comprehensive set of drivers.
