New Bonding Material for RF Applications

West Chicago, IL: American Standard Circuits, Inc. (ASC) announced today an addition to the Electrasil family of products. Electrasil materials are thermally and electrically conductive interface solutions for PCBs. This material, named Electrasil-3, utilizes a thin film or screen printed paste to efficiently transfer heat from the ground plane of a PCB to the heat sink so that the electronic components do not heat up while functioning. Electrasil-3 is a low cost alternative to our earlier versions, Electrasil-1 and Electrasil-2 and possesses all superior heat transfer and stability characteristics of Electrasil-1 or Electrasil-2. The material bonds printed circuit boards (PCBs) to heat sinks, specifically for RF applications.

Dr. Sandy Kumar, Director of Technology for ASC stated, "Electrasil-3 is a low cost alternative to Electrasil-1 and Electrasil-2. It delivers exceptional cooling performance and bonding characteristics. Being a silicone based elastomer, Electrasil-3 has excellent bond strength and thermal shock resistance"

CEO, Anaya Vardya had this to say, "As promised to our customers and to the markets in which we are most active, we continue to invest heavily in the R&D of new products, specifically in regards to RF and military/defense applications. Electrasil-3 is a robust addition to our existing Electrasil-1 and Electrasil-2 products, and we are proud to announce our newest technical achievement to the marketplace."
