June 10, 2009 - Based on Hall Effect technology, TD and 9001 Current Detectors protect power semiconductors in power electronic circuits by signaling when current in circuit has exceeded nominal trip point. Digital output is factory programmed to go low when trip point is exceeded. Operating over temperature range of -40 to +125°C, units mount directly to PCB and provide isolation between sensed current and output. Both have negligible levels of power dissipation.

E-T-A Circuit Breakers Extends its Product Offering to Include Over Current Detectors

June 1, 2009 - E-T-A Circuit Breakers is pleased to announce the extension of its product offering to include a new line of over current detectors. The TD and 9001 Hall effect current detectors protect power semiconductors in power electronic circuits by signaling when current in the circuit has exceeded the nominal detector trip point. They are designed to be mounted directly to a printed circuit board and, like Hall effect current sensors, provide isolation between the sensed current and the output.

Specifications:

E-T-A's over current detectors are available in a range of set detector trip points and are fully integrated with a digital output factory programmed to go low when the trip point is exceeded. Both have a fast response time of 1µs (typical) - allowing ample time for the system control circuit to protect the power circuit. The TD and 9001 operate over a temperature range of -40 to +125º C and, because the devices are Hall effect based, have negligible levels of power dissipation, even in high frequency switching circuits.

Applications:

The TD and 9001 over current detectors are designed to protect power semiconductors in power electronic circuits. Typical applications include, but are not limited to: welding equipment, servo drives, treadmills, automotive power conversion, power supplies, home audio, and MRI equipment.

Availability:

Both the TD and 9001 series are available with a 4 week lead time. For additional information on E-T-A's line of over current detectors, call 1-800-462-9979 to speak with a product specialist or visit www.e-t-a.com/ocd.
