Opening New Applications for ADwin Pro-II DAQ Systems
CHESTERLAND OH—CAS DataLoggers and German manufacturer Jager-ADwin have partnered to announce the SENT-4-Out: Signal Output Card for ADwin-Pro-II Data Acquisition and Control Systems. The SENT output interface for the ADwin-Pro II represents ADwin’s next advance–after the SENT input module–into the world of automotive electronics. This new module can output SENT messages on 4 channels in parallel, either continuously as an alterable message or as a sequence of freely-defined SENT messages. This output card is ideal for many automotive manufacturing applications including vehicle OEM, ECU manufacturing, performance verification, and high speed data acquisition.
The Pro-II’s new SENT-4-Out signal output card features 4x outputs according to SENT specification, supporting fast channels and Serial message. The card also supports several sending modes. The base clock, filler pulse, and type of CRC checksum are configurable. The output card also features 4 digital inputs and 4 digital outputs with TTL levels.
Communication in all Directions
Jager’s ADwin-Pro II system is the successor of the modular ADwin-Pro. Jager’s modular ADwin-Pro II Series allows users up to 480 analog or digital inputs in a single chassis. The ADwin Pro-II is equipped with a considerably faster T11 processor and transfers data 10x faster with the new Pro II bus. ADwin-Pro II modules efficiently work with various bus systems and serial interfaces. For example an ADwin-Pro II system can simultaneously send messages and data via RS232, communicate with devices via CAN bus, and control a test stand.
• The new T11 processor module is equipped with a high-performance TigerSharc© ADSP-TS101S from Analog Devices. With 300 MHz clock rate, 768 kB local memory and 256 MB RAM, the processing performance is suited to demanding applications. Additionally, the processor features a floating point unit with 40-bit resolution.
• The T11’s high-speed Ethernet interface reaches effective data transfer rates of more than 10 MByte/s from the Pro II system to the computer. This enables high-speed DAQ projects.
• The bus bandwidth of up to 200 MByte/s further increases the capacity of the internal data transfer between the processor module and the new Pro II I/O modules.
All the new Pro-II modules run synchronously via the Pro II bus, allowing fully-synchronized time measurements with multiple modules without any special effort from software. Additionally the new ADlog data logging software for ADwin systems opens new fields for intelligent datalogging applications when combined with the system’s hardware capabilities.

The ADwin-Pro II is available as a desktop unit for the laboratory, as a field system or as a system for control enclosure assembly. With its 5-16 slots and a wide variety of different modules, the Pro-II forms the ideal and flexible basis for fast real-time applications.
