PLEASANTON, Calif., Oct. 12 -- Trapeze Networks, a Belden Brand (NYSE:BDC), today introduces the world's first centrally-managed, enterprise-class outdoor 802.11n access point. The MP-632 is the newest member of Trapeze Networks' growing family of NonStop Wireless access points and can be easily configured to create reliable and secure large areas of high speed client access, bridges spanning many miles, or mesh networks enveloping the largest sites. And all of these configurations are easily, centrally managed. As the first enterprise-class 802.11n access point, it delivers up to ten times the performance of an 802.11 a/g access point and does so in the harshest climates or industrial settings. The MP-632 is immediately available at an MSRP of $3,995.00.

The MP-632 has been built to NEMA4X standard of the National Electrical Manufacturers Association. This means that the MP-632 operates in temperatures ranging from

-40F to +131F. Rain, sleet, snow, hail, dust. . . none of these interrupt service. The MP-632 has an IP67 rating which means it is totally protected from dust and protected against immersion in water up to one meter.

What's Under the Hood?

The MP-632 is a dual radio, dual band (2.4GHz and 5GHz) 3x3 MIMO access point. It's connected to the network with Gigabit Ethernet. Without antennas, it is 11.18" x 11.18" x 5.53" and weighs less than ten pounds. Four different antenna kits support the different configurations for the MP-632.

The Trapeze Networks' MP-632 is managed by Trapeze Networks' Mobility System Software, connecting it to a centrally-managed indoor / outdoor wireless network. MSS is the distributed wireless operating system that runs on Trapeze's wireless LAN equipment and delivers the benefits of Trapeze's Smart Mobile architecture.
