Device provides standard, compressed, and curves print modes in addition to max dynamic range of 35/34 dB and stable source output power of -8 dBm. Other features include diverse reports, visible fault location (VFL) function, 1.6 m event dead zone, 0.025 m resolution, and 128 k sampling points.

Multi-Function Optical Time Domain Reflectometer
Toronto, Canada - GAO Tek Inc. (www.GAOTek.com) has launched its multi-function optical time domain reflectometer (OTDR), which provides wavelengths of 1310 and 1550 nm and both auto and manual measurement modes. It is specially designed for testing in a variety of fiber optic applications including WDM, MAN, FTTH and LAN networks.
This OTDR, model A0840006, features an extra short event dead zone of 1.6 m, a high resolution of 0.025 m, 128 k sampling points, and a convenient visible fault location (VFL) function. It creates fiber event reports, fiber zone reports and fault reports. This OTDR provides a maximum dynamic range of 35/34 dB and a stable source output power of -8 dBm. It also provides three print modes including standard mode (full-size, multipage OTDR report), compressed mode (one page report) and curves (four six or eight curves on one page). It uses a USB port for file transfer and software upgrade. In addition, it is powered by a built-in lithium battery with high capacity which provides for over 8 hours of continuous operation.
This multi-function optical time domain reflectometer (OTDR) belongs to GAO's OTDR family.
