October 28, 2010 - Suited for maintenance of telecommunications and CATV systems, handheld Model 5202 provides 650 nm red source, 1,310/1,550 nm wavelengths for single mode fiber, and 850/1,300 wavelengths for multimode fiber. Unit includes backlit LCD for clear display of test results and auto-off after 10 minutes to conserve battery life. Together with GAO's Model 5303 optical power meter, pair acts as solution for fiber optic network characterization.

Easy- to- use Handheld Optical Light Source


Toronto, Canada - GAO Fiber Optics (www.GAOFiberOptics.com) has released its easy - to - use handheld optical light source intended for optical fiber networks. This optical light source is ideal for the maintenance of telecommunications and CATV systems.

This handheld optical light source, model 5202, features compact size, ease of use, highly stable output power and wavelength. It provides 1 to 4 output wavelengths to meet specific requirements including 650nm red source, 1310/1550nm wavelengths for single mode fiber and 850/1300nm wavelengths for multimode fiber. Other wavelengths are available to meet specific needs. The compact optical light source, equipped with a backlight LCD display, provides a clear display of test results. Together with GAO's 5303 optical power meter, the pair acts as a perfect solution for the fiber optic network characterization. Ten minutes auto-off function allows for battery life conservation.
