Grayhill Unveils Series 62AG

LaGrange, IL (Spring, 2007) - Grayhill, Inc. is proud to announce the introduction of the Series
62AG optical encoder. The 62AG is manufactured using 100% hard tooled pieces parts and
utilizes patented light pipe technology for optical switching. These design enhancements enable
the 62AG encoder to be price competitive with mechanical encoders at high production volumes,
while providing superior reliability and performance.

The 62AG generates a two bit digital output to measure the magnitude and direction of the shaft or
knob rotation. Add the optional integrated push-button and the 62AG becomes the perfect device
for scrolling items from a list or menu and selecting the desired function. Designers of equipment
in industries like automotive, medical, test and measurement, and audio/video will find the 62AG
to be an effective and efficient user interface solution.

The optically-coupled switching enables the encoder to surpass one million rotational cycles, thus
providing superior durability over corresponding mechanical encoders. The encoder is terminated
with a four inch cable/connector assembly and can be purchased with 16 or 32 detent positions
per rotation. Custom shaft configurations and switch terminations are available in annual
quantities exceeding 500 units.
