Affordable New State of the Art Graphic Operator Interface

(Everett, WA) - New from Maple Systems is the Silver Series Plus, a high-value, full-featured and rugged series of touchscreen operator interface terminals.

"We've taken all of the user-friendly features of our popular Silver Series and given them even more power and versatility," says Sam Schuy, engineering manager for Maple Systems. "The Silver Series Plus has expanded hardware and software features, as well as brighter more colorful displays and display sizes extending to 12 inches."

The Silver Series Plus displays have been completely reworked, with enhanced display technology that features the latest in bright 65K color TFT displays with high brightness and high contrast. The 6", 8", 10" and 12" displays all feature high-precision analog-resistive touchscreens with to-the-pixel touch sensitivity. A unique feature in the software also allows the displays to be mounted in either portrait or landscape mode.

Expansive hardware features give the Silver Series Plus the ability to connect to multiple devices in a variety of ways. Connectivity options include Ethernet, two USB 2.0 host ports, audio input and output, CompactFlash port, IDE interface, and three COM ports. Multiple network configurations are possible with the 10BaseT Ethernet, and protocols are available for many major brand controllers, including Allen-Bradley Ethernet IP.

The Silver Series Plus is programmed with EZware-5000, intuitive and adroit operator interface software that provides a versatile interface between man and machine. EZware-5000 has numerous features that make communications easy including data sampling and data logging that can be stored to internal or external storage; easily interpreted data monitoring objects such as meters, graphs, lamps and numeric displays; easy to use data entry objects like predefined or custom keypads, switches, buttons, and increment/decrement keys; as well as extensive alarm and events monitoring features.

EZware-5000 has enhanced graphics 65K color 3-D graphics capabilities and four types of animation to create realistic looking displays that enhance communications. Graphics objects are available in EZware's object libraries, and additional graphics can be imported as bitmaps, JPGs or GIFS and displayed on the HMI. All graphics can be modified or added to using EZware-500's drawing tools, and any new graphics can be saved in user libraries for use in future projects. Display graphics can further be enhanced with animation, moving objects, multi-state objects or by using an animated GIF. The use of multiple fonts and font sizes is also available - EZware uses Windows TrueType fonts, making any font that is on your computer available for use on the OIT.

Additional programming features are available in EZware that give it extra versatility. Multi-language labeling allows users to program the OIT in up to eight different languages, and the language can be changed on the display with a single keypress. Six security levels with three passwords per level protect screens or objects from unauthorized use. The recipe features allows a series of predefined actions to be performed with a single keypress.

With all of these features and an extremely affordable price - starting under $600 for a 6" 65K color TFT, the Silver Series Plus operator interfaces are designed to meet the needs of today's industrial automation.
