Montalvo Offers New U4 Open Loop Controller

Gorham, Maine- The Montalvo Corporation, international specialists in industrial web control systems, has developed a new open loop web tension controller, the U4, designed to increase productivity and profitability.
President Ed Montalvo says, "The U4 offers advanced features (typically found only in closed-loop control systems) such as soft start, anti-coast, taper tension, inertia compensation, and diameter alarms."
The Montalvo U4, compatible with a variety of inputs, ensures accurate tension control from full roll to core. Also, the U4 does not require additional idler rollers, an important consideration especially in foil applications where rollers can introduce wrinkles.
Features include: remote operation, "set it and forget it" technology, unwind and rewind functionality, diameter display (in English or metric units), programmable diameter alarms, and easy installation right out of the box for a surface or flush mount. The Montalvo U4 also permits a user to save up to nine tension parameters for immediate recall to get a machine up and running quickly and eliminates variations in productivity from shift to shift.
