Normative Express Allows Organizations to Measure Job Satisfaction Online Using Well-known Scoring Indexes

BOCA RATON, Fla., Feb. 7 -- Businesses finally have access to a powerful and easy-to-use online tool that measures how satisfied their employees really are in comparison to normative scoring data.

Amplitude Research, Inc., an online survey company, today announced the launch of the Normative Express(R), developed in cooperation with Bowling Green State University, the founder and monitor of the Job Descriptive Index (JDI), Job in General Scale (JIG), and other scoring indexes used by more than 1,000 organizations. A full explanation of how the Normative Express works can be found at www.normativeexpress.com/ .

"This product sprang from an ongoing, exclusive consulting relationship between Amplitude Research(R) and Bowling Green State University," said Amplitude founder and CEO Stephen Birnkrant.

The JDI/JIG Research Group at Bowling Green has been actively involved for over 35 years in refining existing measures of job attitudes and developing new measures for businesses to assess job satisfaction. The Job Descriptive Index (JDI), first introduced in 1969, is recognized as the most respected and widely used measure of job satisfaction in the world. This is the first time that the scoring indexes have been released to the public for use online with automated reporting.

"Amplitude's mission is to help companies of all sizes examine and improve employee satisfaction using reliable and proven scoring indexes at affordable prices," said Birnkrant. "Our dynamic technology platform allowed us to build an automated online scoring system so companies can immediately view employees' satisfaction scores as well as results from custom questions and sub-groups."

"Organizations of 30 to 30,000 employees now have an opportunity to quickly and accurately understand the extent of job satisfaction," noted Dr. William Balzer, Associate Vice President and Dean, Bowling Green State University, and professor of industrial-organizational psychology, who co- leads the JDI/JIG Research Group. "Organizations will also be able to easily compare results from administration of the indexes over time and better understand the impact of intervention programs."
