New Pushpin(TM) ProView Maps from Placebase Advance Online Mapping from Cartoonish and Stale to Fresh and Elegant

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 19 /-- Placebase, Inc. today announced the availability ProView maps, a fresh look for Pushpin, its advanced online mapping platform. ProView maps offer more control over the display of map layers than any other smoothly draggable mapping API.

"Over the last couple of years we've seen just a couple of map looks come to dominate online mapping. Developers are searching for a way to differentiate from these cliched looks and stand out from the crowd. At the same time, these professionals are looking for more control over how their map functions. For example, with the most popular map APIs there are still no easy ways to turn on and off individual layers and labels," said Jaron Waldman, Founder and CEO of Placebase. "Our new Pushpin ProView maps allow virtually all map elements and layers to be turned on and off. The look of the map is deeply customizable and the performance and quality is uncompromised. That level of control is critical in solving real world online mapping problems, for example presenting thousands of Real Estate listings or showing market and demographic trends on a map."

Foreclosure.com provides the largest and most accurate database of national distressed real estate listings with more than 1.2 million foreclosure, preforeclosure, bankruptcy, FSBO and tax lien listings. "We offer investors and future homeowners with the best real estate deals online," said Stephen Chip of Foreclosure.com. "We're excited about the release of Pushpin ProView maps because the leading-edge maps are in-line with our superior data. Pushpin is yet another dynamic feature that ensures our site visitors have the best real estate experience on the Web."

Pushpin ProView maps offer a softer color palette for streets that distract less from other map features. Pushpin map developers now have a choice between the new map style and the more ubiquitous cartoonish look available on the old style orange and yellow maps.

In addition to a new beautiful and legible look, the new ProView style also uniquely offers developers more control of their online maps then any other hosted map platform. Developers have the ability to control individually separate "acetate" map layers, including:

-- City, state and province labels
-- Water, land use and park labels
-- Street and highway labels
-- Minor streets
-- Neighborhood and landmark labels
-- County state and province boundaries
-- Streets and highways
-- Land use, parks and water
-- Urban Areas, Federal lands, native American Reservations

Toll roads are also differentiated from freeways through distinct colors and unpaved and private roads are indicated as thin and grey.

Pushpin ProView maps can be combined with any of the over 10,000 layers available in Pushpin Collections (http://collections.pushpin.com/).
