9245 Sodium Analyzer

LOVELAND, COLORADO-February 28, 2007-Hach Company announces the availability of the 9245 On-Line Sodium Analyzer for boiler/steam generation and cooling water applications. Measurement of sodium concentration, recognized as an important index for water quality control, enables plant chemists and utilities managers to monitor several critical areas of their process to optimize performance. Monitoring indicates possible stress corrosion of the super heater, gives early warnings of excursions on condensates, detects hydroxides and chlorides that contribute to the stress corrosion of austenitic steel, helps manage ion exchange resin, and ensures the quality of de-mineralized water delivered to the makeup plant.

The 9245 provides a detection limit of 0.01 ppb and measures in the range of 0-10,000 ppb. Time-saving features of the 9245 include:
o Automatic reactivation without acid etching
A non-hazardous chemical injection reactivates the electrode, ensuring optimal operation even in ultrapure waters with continuously low sodium concentrations.
o Small volume grab sample
Analysts collect and pour small samples without the hassle of a pump and the mess of cleaning tubes. A small volume size reduces sample costs.
o Programmable pH set point with temperature compensation
Maintains the electrode in the same pH environment for more repeatable and accurate results. Temperature swings do not impact the lowest detection limit.
o Minimal maintenance

Replacement of calibration solution reagents and electrolyte every 100 days.
