ISOPur Introduces the MR-Series Proven Oil Purification System

ROCKY HILL, CT - The ISOPur MR-Series is a patented, sub-micron purification system for hydraulic and lubricating oil used in high-performance, industrial machinery. The unit is designed for power generation equipment with flow-rates ranging from 600 to 1000 gallons per hour and reservoir sizes up to 5000 gallons.

The ISOPur MR-Series features patented Balanced Charge Purification (BCP) technology, delivering a level of fluid purity unattainable by conventional filtration systems. ISOPur not only continuously purifies non-conducting fluid to a better than new condition, BCP is also proven to remove and prevent sludge and varnish from the internals of the machinery.

By purifying fluids to a sub-micron level, ISOPur's technology eliminates the adhesive or hard particles that create varnish and sludge that build up in servo valves, control valves, bearings, metering orifices, regulators, and seals. BCP accomplishes this level of ultra-fine purification while maintaining fluid lubricity and water content without affecting additives.

Designed with control room operation in mind, the ISOPur system is equipped with SmartPakTM, an easily programmable logic controller that provides the following:

• Optimizes flow rate to changing fluid conditions

• Monitors fluid temperature

• Tracks fluid pressure and flow

Alarms and automatic reminders also help to alert operators of unusual flow or pressure within the ISOPur system in order to streamline machine maintenance, saving valuable time and money.

ISOPur systems can provide a dramatic return on investment by improving plant uptime, reducing maintenance costs, extending the life of expensive capital equipment, and reducing fluid consumption and waste disposal. The need for chemical flushes is eliminated with the use of ISOPur purification.

In addition to hydraulic and lubricating oil, BCP has also been proven effective on cutting/machining oils, phosphate esters, and vegetable oil. BCP removes contaminants of many varieties, including sub-micron particles, products of oxidation, ferrous and non-ferrous metals, and bacteria.

Power generation, transformers/tap changers, pulp and paper, plastic extrusion, marine, primary metals, general manufacturing, machine tools, and food processing are industries identified to particularly benefit from ISOPur's technology.

"Servo valves and bearings are vital to machine performance and are often the sources of failure in critical machinery, resulting in costly equipment downtime, higher repair and maintenance costs, and lost production", explained Gerald L. (Gerry) Munson, Chief Technology Officer for ISOPur Fluid Technologies.

"When sub-micron particles within the lubricating fluid get trapped in the extremely small clearances between the valves, the particles act like an adhesive, causing the servo valves to stick and often fail, which ultimately brings production to a sharp and costly halt. The backbone of the BCP technology is the ability to remove sludge and varnish."

"Importantly, the MR-Series transforms lubricating oil into a capital asset that can be used again and again without replacement rather than a commodity and a liability to be used and disposed of," said Munson.

"Field tests in many different applications are proving that the MR-Series is delivering substantial improvement in oil quality," said Munson.

HOW THE SYSTEM WORKS:

ISOPur's patented BCP technology works by passing contaminated fluid over a series of electrodes that carefully charge particles, both positive and negative, until the net charge is balanced. As charged particles mix, they attract and grow in size, making for easy removal with standard filtration. BCP is a revolutionary technology within the purification industry because of its effectiveness on sub-micron particles that would otherwise pass freely through premium filters. BCP accomplishes this level of ultra-fine purification while maintaining fluid lubricity and water content without affecting additives.

BCP restores a balanced charge in the fluid, blocking particle attraction and eliminating the fundamental cause of sludge and varnish formation. Conventional filters impart a net static charge on particles, causing them to attract to internal surfaces and initiating the process of varnish formation. Because of the balanced charge, BCP actually "pulls" sticky sludge and varnish off the internals of machine valves, bearings, and other critical components.

"Plant management and operators no longer have to be concerned about small particles or worry about internal deposits, rust and corrosion, or chemical flushing. What's more, they will find that ISOPur's BCP technology keeps hydraulic fluids and lubricating oils like new, year after year without replacement," said Munson.
