Measuring 54 x 28 x 9 mm, Model EPOS2 36/2 controls brush DC motors as well as brushless EC motors, and is suited for single-axis and multiple-axis applications of miniature size. Plug-in module can be operated as speed controller or current controller in addition to position controller. Providing 36 V, 2 Amp operation, drive is designed to command and control within CANopen network, but can also communicate via USB or RS232 interface.

As an addition to the digital positioning controllers of the EPOS family, maxon motor now presents an OEM version. The miniaturized EPOS2 Module 36/2 is designed to control brush DC motors as well as brushless EC motors. This plug-in module offers full motion control functionalities and suits single-axis and multiple-axis applications of miniature size. The EPOS2 Module 36/2 is the perfect drive solution for equipment designers.
This plug-in module integrates seamlessly into customer applications. One major advantage of the position controller is its outstanding flexibility. It can be operated in various operational modes; as position controller, but also as speed controller or as current controller. This characteristic permits the use of the module in a vast range of drive systems. Thus, the EPOS2 Module 36/2 can be applied wherever decentralized drive management is needed. With its size of only 54x28x9 mm, performance characteristics of 36 Volt max and 2 Amp, the module is especially suitable as an OEM component in miniature apparatus manufacturing.
As with all products of the EPOS series, this module has also been developed to command and control within a CANopen network. It also can communicate via USB or RS232 interface. Additionally, step motors can be substituted by employing the featured "Step/Direction Mode" and the "Master Encoder Mode" transforms the drive into an electronic gearbox. Control via an analogue set value voltage can replace conventional servo amplifier setups.

Also available is documentation set to assist OEMs in motherboard design for multiple-axis systems.
