NextComputing Announces Powerful New Notebook Server Incorporating Intel Core 2 Procesors

Nashua, NH - August 1, 2007 - NextComputing, a high performance mobile computer manufacturer, introduces its most powerful notebook yet, the NextBook17E. This latest model incorporates the Intel® Core(TM) 2 Duo, a dual core processor at 2.66GHz, and is upgradeable to the Intel® Core(TM) 2 Extreme processor, which boasts 2.93 GHz.

"Our systems are not intended for your run of the mill notebook user. They are all server class, performing at the level of much larger, stationary computers in the convenience of a take along chassis. Designers, engineers, and marketing/sales professionals needing to demo high-end applications are typical end users for the NextBook17E," explains Bob Labadini, President and CTO of NextComputing.

The NextBook17E can be configured with:

Up to 4 GB DDR2-SDRAM

17 in. (1680x1050) resolution display

PCI Express 16x graphics

(4) USB 2.0 ports

(1) DVI

(4) Audio jacks

10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet

Up to (2) 160GB 7200RPM SATA drives

DVDRW

Operating systems supported include Windows XP Pro, Vista, and Windows 2003 Server. Concurrent use and dual boot environments are also available.

About NextComputing
NextComputing is best known for inventing the flextop computer, a personal supercomputer about the size of a briefcase that houses extreme performance processors by Intel and AMD. Intended for those applications strenuous enough to outgrow even the NextBook17E, the company's family of NextDimension flextops rivals the most powerful standalone graphics workstations and rackmount servers. The NextBook line fills the gap between a typical laptop and a flextop, providing maximum performance in an inexpensive package.
